AI Disclosure

Copy status — approved, with tracked follow-ups

This disclosure was reviewed and approved by the operator on July 11, 2026, resolving the final public-copy sign-off. The bracketed items that remain — the faith-specific disclaimer ([FOUNDER INPUT]) and the runtime AI-egress verification ([OPERATOR-VERIFY]) — depend on their own pending decision or check and should not be relied on until then.

How Pray Uses AI

Pray can use AI to help generate and vary the wording of prayers during guided sessions. AI requests are made only through our own server; the app never contacts an AI provider directly, and provider keys are never exposed to your device.

What We Send to the AI Provider

For current features, we send only session configuration — such as the type of prayer, style, length, and the current phase of the session.

We do NOT send your personal prayer requests, private notes, journal entries, profile details, location, or email.

Custom Sessions — What’s Different

If you create a custom session, the name and description you write for that session are sent to the AI provider so it can generate that session’s prayer content.

This text is cleaned up and length-limited before it is sent. Because it is text you author, please avoid putting sensitive personal details in a custom session’s name or description.

What We Don’t Do

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

By “train AI models” we mean provider or model improvement, weight training, fine-tuning, or reuse beyond fulfilling the feature you requested. Any future use of your content for training would require a new, explicit decision and your consent.

Safety

AI-generated wording is checked against safety rules — for example, it should not speak as God in the first person and should avoid manipulative or harmful content.

AI wording is a devotional aid and may be imperfect. It is not spiritual, pastoral, medical, legal, or other professional advice. We continue to expand these safeguards.

[FOUNDER INPUT — faith-specific disclaimer] A faith-specific disclaimer will be added here once provided.

Verification

[OPERATOR-VERIFY] A runtime capture of a live AI request to reconfirm exactly which fields are sent is an operator step pending before this disclosure is relied on at runtime, publicly, or in the app store, and before store submission.
